When asked about the reasons for losing the ICC World Cup final, Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami said, "The thing was that we did not have enough runs. Indian legendary cricketer Kapil Dev had previously revealed that he was not invited to the ICC World Cup 2023 final between India vs Australia. The cricketer had mentioned “I wasn’t invited there. They didn’t call me, so I did not go. As simple as that. I wanted the whole ’83 team to be there with me, but I guess due to the fact that it’s such a big event and people are so busy handling responsibilities, sometimes they forget,” Kapil told the media. In a recent interview, when asked about the ongoing Kapil Dev controversy on not being invited to the world cup 2023 final match, the former cricketer dismissed the issue without talking about it further. On being asked about India’s loss in the world cup finals 2023, the cricketer said that it is time to move on from the setback and lauded the Indian cricket team for ‘good cricket’.
