World Mental Health Day 2023: Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar is widely known for his creative work in the Hindi Film Industry. In an exclusive conversation with Mid-day.com`s Sit With Hitlist, Karan Johar opened up about three things that helped him fight his inner trauma. Three things that motivated Karan Johar to heal were firstly, hugging his children which as per him is the biggest therapy in the world. Secondly, knowing that his situation and state of mind might affect his mother was something he had to look after so that she stayed out of worry. Lastly, it was his work and organisation that he leads and he realised that if he crumbled due to his state of mind, it would have affected his work. Karan Johar also mentioned how going to a therapist is sometimes extremely essential as it helped him to heal. Sit With Hitlist: Karan Johar shared poignant moments from his life that he wishes to archive, one of which is watching the film `Gandhi` from the comfort of his home. This experience held special significance as his father, Yash Johar, was a line producer for the Indian segments of the film. At a young age, Karan didn`t grasp the cinematic importance, but the day he learned they had special permissions to view it at home with director Richard Attenborough, Yash Johar, and Hiroo Johar, left him in awe. He recounted his family`s entry into the film industry and his father`s journey, which intertwined with legends like Dev Anand, Vijay Anand, Raj Kapoor, and Sunil Dutt. Karan also shed light on how `Dostana` and his father`s path to becoming a film director came into being, even mentioning his mother`s school days with Amitabh Bachchan. He even mentioned that their family business in Delhi was that of Nanking sweets, much like Dhanalaxmi Laddoos in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
