After a gap of seven months, the banana train from Raver to Delhi resumed services for this season. The train helps local farmers connect with the national markets without delay. These trains have made three trips already since April 26.
“This season the yield and inflow of bananas has increased in Raver, Yawal and Muktainagar areas. Trucks are also not easily available for shipment of bananas to North India and hence in this situation, the Banana Producers Association has opted for railway wagons to transport them to the Delhi market in a timely manner,” a local farmer and trader Ramdas Patil said.
