On October 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an initiative known as `Shramdaan for cleanliness` in collaboration with fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuria. This initiative was unveiled as a component of the `Swachhata Hi Seva` campaign on the Sunday preceding Gandhi Jayanti, which falls on October 2. A video clip of the PM and fitness influencer conversing with each other was shared on the official page. The clip was captioned, “Today, as the nation focuses on Swachhata, Ankit Baiyanpuriya and I did the same! Beyond just cleanliness, we blended fitness and well-being also into the mix. It is all about that Swachh and Swasth Bharat vibe! @baiyanpuria".
As soon as PM launched the campaign several celebrities took part and gave their bit to the nation. Khiladi Kumar, Akshay took to his Instagram and shared a picture of himself cleaning the beach. While posting the picture Akshay wrote, “Cleanliness is not just about physical spaces, it is a state of mind. Being out of the country couldn’t stop me from paying tribute to Swachhata Abhiyan. So I would say wherever you are, do your bit to keep your space, and mind, clutter-free. #SwachhataHiSeva”
