Preeti (54kg) scores sensational 4-3 win over Romania’s Lacramioara Perijoc via split decision in World Championships; determined to prove that she is no less than anyone

Indian boxers continued to shine at home as three of them entered the pre-quarters with contrasting wins at the Women’s World Championships here on Saturday. Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nitu Ganghas (48kg) began her campaign with a RSC (referee stopped contest) win over Doyeon Kang of Korea, while Preeti (54kg) eked out a 4-3 split decision victory against Romania’s Lacramioara Perijoc.
Manju Bamboriya (66kg), on the other hand, defeated Cara Wharerau of New Zealand by a 5-0 unanimous verdict.
