Davis Cup: Ramkumar Ramanathan to lead India against Pakistan

Ramkumar, whose serve and volley game style suits the grass surface, will lead the squad that includes N Sriram Balaji, Yuki Bhambri, Niki Poonacha and Saketh Myneni as All India Tennis Association (AITA) on Sunday named the team for the February 3-4 World Group I play-off tie

Ramkumar Ramanathan was named in the six-member Indian squad for the grass court challenge against Pakistan. It`s a clear sign that the Indian team is preparing to play against Pakistan in Pakistan for the first time in 60 years. Even AITA awaits the ITF tribunal`s decision on its appeal against travel to neighbouring nations on security concerns.
India has never lost to Pakistan in the Davis Cup in the last eight games against each other. The last time, India travelled to Pakistan was back in the year 1964. They defeated Pakistan by 4-0.
