St Lawrence HS (Kandivli) showed nerves of steel to overcome Don Bosco HS (Borivli) 4-2 via the tie-breaker to win the Ahmed Sailor boys’ under-16 crown in the MSSA inter-school football tournament at Cooperage on Sunday.
In an evenly-contested final, both schools failed to score a goal. In the ensuing penalty shootout duel, the Kandivli schoolboys successfully converted their first four kicks through Ayush Pandey, Shivam Yadav, Sagar Mourya and Shubham Pathak, while only Leroy D’Silva and Jaden Alex managed to beat St Lawrence goalkeeper Adityaraj Singh. Zayne D’Souza and Rishi Jain’s shots were saved by the custodian.
