Bombay Scottish’s (Mahim) girls and boys had a successful day as both teams advanced to the U-12 Div-I finals of the MSSA inter-school football tournament. In the girls’ semi-finals, Bombay Scottish scored twice in the second half to beat Smt RSB Arya Vidya Mandir (Juhu) 2-0 at Azad Maidan on Tuesday. Later, the Bombay Scottish boys snatched a tense 4-3 tie-breaker victory against St Mary’s ICSE (Mazgaon) in their semi-final clash.
The feature of the Scottish girls’ win was the brilliance of their hard-working all-round player Nizh Kapadia. She scored both goals—the first in the opening minute of the second session when her angular shot went past the advancing AVM goalkeeper. Then, she showed excellent finishing again by scoring the second in the 33rd minute to knock the fight out of the Juhu girls.
