Earlier, the Cathedral boys (‘B’ team) also had a rewarding day as they defeated Bombay Scottish ‘B’ (Mahim) 1-0 in an U-12 Div-II match. Nathan DeSouza scored off an on-the-run shot in the 36th minute to seal Cathedral’s win

Cathedral & John Connon (Fort) cruised into the summit round, brushing aside the challenge from Bombay International School (Babulnath) with a 2-0 win in the girls’ U-12 semi-finals of the MSSA inter-school football tournament at Azad Maidan on Monday.
Attacking midfielder Anasuya Raju had a hand in both goals. Cathedral skipper Ariana Jalan got to the end of an Anasuya flag-kick from the right to put the ball in the back of the net in the very second minute. Cathedral doubled the lead when Anasuya dribbled her way into the rival box from the left and scored with an angular shot. Bombay International captain Prisha Patel, who has scored 11 goals in four matches, tried her best to lead the attack and take the fight to her opponents, but with no support from the teammates, she couldn’t do much.
