Ricky Ponting couldn’t avail of lunch at the media enclosure of The Oval on Wednesday because he didn’t have a media band, to be worn on his wrist.

The former Australia captain, however, didn’t make a big deal over the refusal after he returned from a lunch break television chat with Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar. Ponting was quick to head upstairs, where the commentary boxes are housed.
