The Indian Premier League tournament began on April 9 in India but it had to be indefinitely postponed after few coronavirus cases occurred within the league. Players and staff members from Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad tested Covid-19 positive during the IPL 2021 season.
Following the rise in cases, the BCCI, earlier this month, suspended the IPL 2021 edition with no further dates announced. Many overseas players, who were initially in the country due to the lockdown, have now managed to reach their respective nations.
