Sanju Samson, back then a 14-year-old skinny boy in a hotel bed watched the first-ever IPL match. The first match of the Indian Premier League was played on April 18, 2008, between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders in which Brendon McCullum scored a fiery 158 runs in 73 balls.
