Parsee Gymkhana carried on their fine form to pile up 303-8 in the Madhav Mantri Centenary One-Day League day-night final against Karnatak Sporting Association at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s Bandra-Kurla Complex ground on Wednesday. That was before the floodlights went off at 5.24 pm due to a technical failure with Karnatak SA reaching 20-0 in five overs in reply to Parsee Gym’s 303-8 in 45 overs.
Put into bat, Parsee Gym reached 50 in just 6.2 overs. In-form opener Vikrant Auti (8) failed to counter pacer Aishwarya Surve’s incoming delivery which disturbed his furniture. One-drop Sachin Yadav and opener Aakarshit Gomel looked promising, but fell for an identical score of 36. However, experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Aditya Tare took on the responsibility and helped his team post a huge total.
