India on Tuesday named their 15-member provisional squad for the T20 World Cup in the Americas with Rohit Sharma leading the side and Hardik Pandya being retained as his deputy. Sharma, alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and Sanju Samson form the top-order batting unit, while Pandya, hard-hitting batter Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel will be India`s designated all-rounders.
Leg-spinner Chahal, who last played for India in August 2023, is the second wrist spinner in the team alongside Kuldeep Yadav. Jasprit Bumrah leads the pace battery comprising Arshdeep Singh and Mohammad Siraj, while Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, and Rinku Singh will board the flight to the States as traveling reserves.
