Australians Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade did to Pakistan what New Zealanders Jimmy Neesham and Daryl Mitchell had done to England in Abu Dhabi the other night.
From a position where things looked hopeless after the top-order had been cleaned up by leg-spinner Shadab Khan, Stoinis and Wade, waded into the Pakistan bowling to help the team register a come-from-behind five-wicket win with an over to spare to storm into the final of the T20 World Cup. Wade struck Pakistan’s top pace bowler Shaheen Afridi for three superb sixes in the penultimate over to clinch the issue which left the huge the Pakistan crowd stunned at the Dubai stadium.
