In the ever-evolving landscape of international cricket, strategic adaptations are crucial for sustained success. And if sources are to be believed, under Team India’s next head coach Gautam Gambhir, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seems poised to embark on a bold initiative for optimising performance by potentially establishing separate teams for each format of the game.
This move will aim to capitalise on specialised skills and tailor strategies to excel in Tests, One Days (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Speaking exclusively to Mid-Day, an official in the know of things on Wednesday outlined plans for the restructuring, as the cricketing world awaits to see how the management navigates the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead after curtains draw on Rahul Dravid.
