Indian captain Virat Kohli didn`t have a great return to international cricket as he got dismissed for a four-ball duck on the first day of the second Test match between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Kohli was dismissed LBW by Kiwi spinner Ajaz Patel, but it created a huge uproar as he was given out despite the ball allegedly hitting the bat first.
The 33-year-old batter took the DRS option, but third umpire Virender Sharma felt that the evidence was inconclusive and asked the on-field umpire, Anil Chaudhary, to stick to his decision, which was out. The decision didn`t impress Kohli and he made his disappointment known to the umpire before leaving the field.
