Angelo Mathews claimed the wicket of Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan in a fiery ICC World Cup 2023 league stage clash on Monday after the Sri Lankan all-rounder had been controversially adjudged "timed out" earlier in the day.
Mathews sent back Shakib for 82 and then pointed to his wrist as a send-off at New Delhi`s Arun Jaitley Stadium. Mathews had become the first player in the 146-year history of international cricket to be given timed out as he had taken more than the regulation two minutes to take strike when he came out to bat.
