Former New Hind Sporting Club and Worli SC captain Raju Dabholkar passed away at a city hospital on&nbsp;Saturday.
Dabholkar, 65, was instrumental in the Worli team&rsquo;s progress to the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/mca-postpones-start-of-popular-dr-hd-kanga-cricket-league-23300400" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Dr HD Kanga Cricket League&rsquo;s</a> &lsquo;A&rsquo; Division.
&ldquo;He [Dabholkar] was one of the best batsmen around, a real khadoos cricketer, who led the New Hind side. He was a good off-spinner, brilliant fielder and an ever-smiling person,&rdquo; Ramesh Vajge, who played alongside Dabholkar at New Hind, told&nbsp;mid-day.com.
 Mumbai Cricket Association&rsquo;s Apex Council member Abhay Hadap, recalled Dabholkar&rsquo;s days with Worli SC. He said: &ldquo;We remember him as a consistent performer who used to score big hundreds for Industrial Perfumes in the Times Shield. He led our Worli SC successfully and played a key role in taking our club from Division &lsquo;E&rsquo; to &lsquo;A&rsquo; in the prestigious tournament.&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Dabholkar, who was sick for a while, coached budding cricketers at Worli SC ground last summer.
