In Lithonia, Georgia, a 25-year-old Indian student named Vivek Saini, who had completed an MBA in the United States, was battered to death by a homeless drug addict he had been assisting for the past several days. The attacker, Julian Faulkner, was recorded on camera striking Saini about 50 times with a hammer, per the Associated Press report.
According to the report, Saini, a part-time clerk, had shown humanity by giving Faulkner food, water, and even a jacket. However, on January 16, Saini, afraid for his safety, begged Faulkner to leave, which resulted in the fatal attack. When the police arrived, they discovered Faulkner standing over Saini`s lifeless body.
