The tiny junction in Mundakkai and the moderate town in Chooralmala had been dotted by shops and concrete structures. However, large boulders have now occupied the two areas, which wear a deserted look even a month on after the tragedy

In the first week of this month, the Kerala government announced that it will establish a township in a secure area to rehabilitate those displaced by the catastrophic landslide as most of the homes have been washed away or damaged in Wayanad
