Every year on January 10, World Hindi Day is celebrated all over the world. It is celebrated to mark the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference, which was first organized by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Nagpur in 1975.

In the year 2006, the then Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh had announced to celebrate Vishwa Hindi Diwas on 10 January every year. Since then, World Hindi Day is celebrated on 10 January.
