Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde on Wednesday said that It`s time to extinguish the `torch of ego and arrogance` with the bow-and-arrow, in a subtle reference to the symbols of the Shiv Sena and the Shiv Sena (UBT), a group headed Uddhav Thackeray, reported the PTI.
The Shiv Sena under Uddhav Thackeray was split in 2022 after Eknath Shinde walked away with a majority of the party lawmakers and tied up with the BJP to form the government. The Election Commission later allowed his group to retain the name `Shiv Sena` and its bow-and-arrow symbol, the news agency reported.
