Nagpur Factory Blast: Director, manager granted bail soon after arrest

The director of an explosives factory along with its manager were arrested on Friday a day after a blast at the unit located near Nagpur city of Maharashtra that killed six workers an official saidHowever they were granted bail soon after arrest on FridayJay Khemka 49 director of Chamundi Explosives Pvt Ltd and factory manager Sagar Deshmukh were arrested and later produced in a local court he saidThe Judicial Magistrate First Class Hingna granted them cash bail of Rs 50000 eachMeanwhile Union Minister Nitin Gadkari visited the blastaffected factory along with officialsThe factory management has assured to provide Rs 25 lakh to the families of each deceased while the state government will give Rs 10 lakh to the kin of each victim he saidThe factory is located in Dhamna village under Hingna police station limits around 25 km from Nagpur cityThe blast occurred around 1 pm on Thursday A total of nine injured people were admitted to two private hospitals in the city Among the victims five women and a man reportedly died during treatment a police official saidAccording to the reports from PTI most of the victims were working in the factorys packaging unit when the explosion took placeAccording to Hingna police station officials a case under Indian Penal Code IPC sections 286 negligent conduct with respect to explosive substances 304 a causing death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act and 338 causing grievous hurt by doing any rash or negligent act was registered against the director and the manager of the factory on Thursday nightThe Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar also visited the site He said the guidelines prescribed for such factories should be strictly implemented As per reports from PTI he demanded Rs 35 lakh compensation and a Rs 20000 monthly pension for the families of the deceased in the Nagpur factory blastThane Blaze erupts in Dombivli chemical factory after explosion no casualtyOn Wednesday morning a fire broke out at a closed chemical factory in Dombivli area of Thane district said officials The chief of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporations disaster management cell Dipak Nikam told PTI that no casualty had been reported thus far and that there was an explosion at the chemical factoryNikam told the news agency that thick smoke billowed from the chemical factory and was visible from a long distanceReportedly the unit is located near Amudan Chemicals where a massive blast on May 23 killed 10 and left over 60 persons injuredSpeaking to the news agency Nikam had mentioned that the fire erupted around 10 am on Wednesday at the chemical factory located in the Dombivli MIDC Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation areawith inputs from PTI
