Mamata Banerjee indulging in appeasement politics by disobeying HC order: BJP

Prabhu Lal Saini, a former minister and vice president of the Rajasthan BJP, charged on Thursday that Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, and the INDIA alliance were engaging in appeasement politics. Following the Calcutta High Court`s 2010 decision to revoke OBC certificates given in West Bengal, he specifically targeted Banerjee. Saini charged her with defying the high court`s decision, calling it an extremely shameful act.
"The Congress and its allies have made a malicious attempt to create division in the country and disintegrate democracy based on appeasement politics," he said at a press conference at the party office here. According to a PTI report, Saini stated that although Banerjee had pledged to provide minority communities with 10% reservation during the most recent assembly elections, the Constitution does not allow for religiously based reservations. According to Saini, Banerjee is openly disobeying the high court`s instructions because of her "stubbornness".
