India has recorded 441 fresh COVID-19 JN.1 variant cases. However there are zero deaths recorded in the country in last 24 hours, the updated data from union health ministry said. The number of active cases has gone down to 3,238, the data adds.
The number of daily cases was in double digits till December 5. The the spike in cases was seen amid cold weather conditions and after the emergence of a new COVID-19 variant, JN.1 - an omicron lineage descendent as per WHO.
