A journalist from a TV channel that had been rapped by the Supreme Court for targeting minorities sparked a controversy after she went crazy over “Urdu” writing on a Haldiram’s snack packet. Her invectives came amid rising hate over the hijab, the Azaan and halal meat.

The journalist kept demanding to know from a store manager what was written on the packet in “Urdu”, which some in social medial claimed was Arabic script. “You can do whatever ma’am, Haldiram’s will not entertain such tantrums,” the woman store manager told the Sudarshan News TV reporter, who also ranted about “betraying Hindus who fast during Navratri”. The Nagpur-headquartered company exports a lot of snacks to the Middle East.
