Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Chaitar Vasava is facing an FIR after allegedly intimidating forest department officials and firing one round into the air using a pistol at his residence in Gujarat`s Narmada district, stated a PTI report. Meanwhile, his wife, personal assistant and one more person were arrested in connection with the incident, according to local law enforcement authorities.
Reportedly, the FIR was lodged against the legislator under Indian Police Code (IPC) sections related to rioting, extortion, and assault on government officials, as well as provisions of the Arms Act. The confrontation transpired when state forest department personnel were summoned to Vasava`s residence in Dediapada town to address concerns regarding encroachments on forest land.
