The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) told the Delhi High Court on Wednesday that action is being taken against flyers not wearing masks properly despite repeated warnings and they will be de-boarded from planes before departure and treated as “unruly passengers”.
A bench of Justices Navin Chawla and C Hari Shankar expressed satisfaction over the steps being taken by the DGCA. The HC though noted that “this court is not interested in seeing passengers de-boarded,” adding that their concern was that passengers adhere to rules that are necessary for their and the co-passengers’ safety.
