Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said on Wednesday that a significant initiative is underway to equip more than 40 police stations in Jammu and Kashmir with state-of-the-art gadgets and weaponry as part of Operation Capacity Building. The objective is to root out any remnants of terrorism in their respective areas, he told media in northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Addressing the passing out cum attestation parade in the Sheeri area, Singh said, "We have initiated Operation Capacity Building and, so far, have enhanced the capabilities of 21 police stations by providing them with advanced equipment and facilities to effectively address the lingering terrorism issues." He further stated that an additional 22 police stations will soon be incorporated into the operation to ensure the complete “eradication of terrorism” from their regions.
