Congress delegation meets President Droupadi Murmu over Manipur issue

An eight-member team of Congress led by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday met President Droupadi Murmu appraising her of the situation in Manipur where violence erupted on May 3 and demanded a probe by a high-level inquiry committee headed by a serving or retired Supreme Court Judge, reported news agency IANS.

Taking to Twitter, Mallikarjun Kharge said: "It is with a deep sense of loss and hurt that we humbly submitted a memorandum to the President of India, for her kind intervention so that the extraordinary situation confronting Manipur can be redressed and normalcy can be brought in urgently."
