Long-pending projects like the Uran-Kharkopar railway line and Digha Gaon suburban station are among infra projects that were finally opened to the public at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. With the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) and suburban railway station, Uran now has connectivity from multiple ends. There was a minor faceoff between BJP and Uddhav Sena workers, but they were dispersed.
“During the programme, the PM dedicated about R2,000-crore-worth railway projects to the nation. These include Phase 2 of the Uran-Kharkopar railway line which will enhance connectivity to Navi Mumbai as suburban services running between Nerul/Belapur to Kharkopar will now be extended to Uran.
