The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) on Tuesday announced a 50 per cent water reduction in the Thane area due to the sudden fire that broke out at a water pumping station in the Pise region of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) earlier on Monday evening.
The Thane civic body said that till further notice, 50 per cent water reduction has been implemented in Thane. "Due to the fire at a water pumping station in the Pise region, the water supply to Mumbai has been reduced. Therefore, the BMC has implemented a 50 per cent reduction in water supply. From Monday (February 26) till further notice, 50 per cent water reduction has been implemented in Thane," the TMC said.
