Thane: BJP MLA shoots former KDMC corporator over land dispute; critical

BJP MLA shot the former corporator inside the cabin of a senior police inspector in Ulhasnagar in the presence of the officer; he fired five rounds at the corporator.

A former corporator of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation sustained injuries after he was shot at by a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA. Shockingly, the incident played out in the cabin of a senior police inspector of the Hill Line Police Station and the officer`s presence. MLA Ganpat Gaikwad shot at ex-KDMC corporator Mahesh Gaikwad, who heads Shiv Sena`s city unit. Apart from Gaikwad, one of his supporters was injured in the firing.
With Lok Sabha elections nearby, the incident of firing between Shiv Sena and BJP office-bearers has raised a question over the law and order in the city.
