RPF constable saves man's life after he jumps from foot overbridge in Naya Nagar

An RPF constable saved the life of a distressed man who allegedly jumped from a foot overbridge in Naya Nagar on Saturday February 23The incident occurred around 5 pm when the constable stationed at Bhayandar RPF witnessed the man jump from the bridge Without hesitation he rushed to the scene and rescued the victimldquoI saw the man jumping from the bridge and without even thinking for a bit I rushed to rescue the victim He said that he was distressed due to some personal reasons and hence had decided to take some extreme steps We then coordinated with the local authorities and the GRP and then admitted him to a local hospital His condition is now stablerdquo said the RPF constable who saved the life of the victimMeanwhile a dead body of an unidentified man was on Friday found in the Kalwa creek in Thane district of Maharashtra a civic official said newswire PTI reportedThe fire brigade was alerted about the body by passersby around 1130 am said chief of the disaster management cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation Yasin TadviThe deceased was around 3540 years old The body was sent for autopsy while Kalwa police are conducting further probe Tadvi saidIn an another incident a man allegedly stabbed his male colleague to death before hanging himself at a garment unit in Sakinaka area of Mumbai in the early hours of Wednesday police said reported the PTIPrima facie an argument between them on some issue led to the crime an official saidThe incident came to light this morning after the owner of the garment unit located in Sakinaka area found the door locked from inside a police official saidThe owner asked a staffer to enter the unit by climbing from an adjacent shop He spotted the body of Saddam Hussain Mohammed Ahmed Shaikh 31 hanging on the mezzanine floor he saidThe owner then called the policePolice used a cutter to break open the door to gain entry The body of another employee identified as Mohammed Ayyaz Nayab Ahmed Shaikh 22 was found lying with injuries the official said the news agency reported on WednesdayPrima facie Saddam Hussain stabbed Mohammed Ayyaz with a pair of scissors in the throat stomach and chest before hanging himself he saidA case under Indian Penal Code sections for murder and accidental death has been registered and further investigation is underway With inputs from PTI
