The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) in Pune has decided to transfer the 17-year-old teen, accused of the Pune car crash in Kalyani Nagar to an observation home until June 5 after public outrage at his quick bail. In reaction to the controversy, the sessions court ordered the remand of the teenager`s father, a real estate developer, into police custody, reported PTI.
According to the report, while the police said that the juvenile justice board revoked the minor`s bond, in the Pune car crash, on Wednesday evening, the teenager`s lawyer explained that the bail was not terminated but rather adjusted. The decision on the police`s request to classify him as an adult accused is pending.
