Heavy overnight rains in Mumbai has led to Vihar Lake overflowing on Sunday morning, a civic official said.
A Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation statement said Vihar Lake, with a storage capacity of 27,698 million litres, is the smallest of the water bodies that are part of the supply mechanism to the metropolis. The lake, built in 1859, supplies 90 million litres per day (MLD), the civic body informed.
