In one case, minors riding triple-seat hit cop; in other, officer manhandled by history-sheeter

Two police officers were assaulted in separate incidents in the city on Monday. In the first incident, a cop was hit by bikers who were violating traffic rules while in the other, a history-sheeter manhandled an officer at Bandra police station.
According to the Mumbai police, the first incident occurred in the area under the jurisdiction of the Worli police around 12.30 pm. “The victim, Constable Sagar Makwana, 28, received five stitches on his head after being assaulted by the bikers,” said a police officer. As per the complaint, the accused were riding a motorcycle triple-seat. When Makwana tried to stop them, they hit him in a bid to escape and he fell down.
