Rani, the six-month-old stray dog from Powai who was sodomised by a food delivery person, has found a forever home. mid-day had, on October 31, reported on the incident. The report also mentioned calls for adoption from NGO Bombay Animal Rights, which was looking after the injured and traumatised female dog. Following the report, more than a dozen Mumbaikars came forward and finally Prabhadevi residents Gokul Mundhra and his partner Sonal adopted Rani.
Vijay Mohanani, president of Bombay Animal Rights, told mid-day, “Our Rani found her forever family. Thanks to the prayers and blessings and support of each one who helped Rani in her journey. The report brought in not only goodwill and positive healing, but also her forever home.”
