However, cases rise; statewide, too, rise in new cases but a dip in fatalities

Mumbai reported zero deaths from COVID-19 for the third time since the beginning of the pandemic, on Wednesday. While the daily cases rose over 200, the test positivity rate (TPR) saw a significant dip on Wednesday. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the daily cases were 238 and the TPR was 0.71 per cent.
While the lowest TPR of the second wave was registered at 0.28 per cent on December 1, the city’s zero death toll was reported on October 17 for the first time and on December 11 for the second time.
