After seeing a gradual rise in the test positivity rate (TPR) over the last couple of days, the city witnessed a significant dip on Sunday at 0.78 per cent. Mumbai also saw a marginal drop in new Covid-19 cases and fatalities. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, the city reported 345 fresh cases and two deaths on Sunday.
For the first time in the second wave, Mumbai’s TPR dipped below 1 per cent on July 29. On August 19, the city recorded the second wave’s lowest TPR at 0.53 per cent after which the graph has been gradually moving upwards.
