Consumed by his craze to show off on Instagram, a developer from Thakurli sat in the chair of a cop during a visit to a police station at Dombivli, and asked an aide to shoot a video of his “bravado”. After a Twitter user shared the clip on the microblogging platform, the police promptly arrested the 51-yar-old builder, Surendra Patil.
On October 25, Patil reached the Manpada police station in connection with a fraud case. Sources said five people had duped Patil of Rs 56 lakh assuring him that they would make Rs 5 crore rain from the sky. While the Manpada cops arrested the scammers and recovered Rs 19.96, a court had asked Patil to collect the money from the police station.
