A major fire broke out in a ground-plus-one-storey structure at Vardhaman Industrial Estate in Dahisar around 11 pm on Saturday. The blaze gutted five shops before the fire brigade brought it under control. Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
“We received a fire call and acted swiftly. Luckily, it was night time and the complex was shut down. By the time we reached, locals had rushed to the scene to put out the fire,” Deputy Fire Officer Purshottam Sandikar said. No injuries were reported due to the incident.
