Mumbai: Dreams of OTT release cost film producer Rs 48 lakh

Complainant says gang promised him deals with Hotstar, only to cheat him of lakhs; cops say accused duped others in Bollywood, too

The cyber cell of the Mumbai police (North region) has arrested a 29-year-old who, along with three others, was running a racket of duping people in the Bollywood on the pretext of securing deals with OTT platforms, police said.

The cyber police arrested Rajat Mourya on the complaint of film producer Maan Singh, who was duped to the tune of Rs 48 lakh between December 2020 and June 2022. He was looking forward to a deal with OTT platforms for his two films—MD Platinum and Alpaviram.
