NM Joshi Marg police has arrested three persons and detained three minors for allegedly raping a minor in a chawl at Lower Parel. One of the accused had invited the girl for his friend’s birthday on Friday night. At first, it was the three of them at the party. Later, four more boys joined them. When the accused were smoking and speaking loudly, the neighbours alerted the cops who rushed to the spot, and found the girl was being raped. All the accused were nabbed at the spot. 

“An 18-year-old accused, who lives with his uncle [in Lower Parel], took the survivor and his friend to his home and later, more friends arrived. They saw the girl and tried to get close to her,” said an official on condition of anonymity.
