An AC local train commuter on Western Railway was found with a fake pass bought for Rs 600 at a mobile recharge shop in Virar. It was during a routine check onboard the train that the ticket checking team of the flying squad found something amiss in the pass covered in plastic. On closer inspection and further checking, it was found to be fake and the commuter was handed over to the railway police. He later revealed that he had bought it from a mobile recharge shop at Virar.
During a special drive on the suburban section between Churchgate and Virar on January 5, a ticket checking squad under the supervision of Brijesh Maurya and Chief Ticket Inspector Abdul Aziz, along with Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector M Zahid Qureshi and Chief Ticket Inspector C D Parmar found a 28-year-old man travelling with an AC monthly season ticket bearing ticket number C 72461282, UTS number X01TDCH080 from Churchgate to Virar for Rs 2,205.
