BMC chief says Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the Worli-Nariman Point section and tunnelling work for GMLR

Civic chief Iqbal Singh Chahal confirmed during the BMC budget presentation on Friday that the first phase of the Mumbai Coastal Road will open on February 19, offering signal-free connectivity between Worli and Nariman Point. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Phase-1 while the full project will be completed by May 15,” Chahal said.
PM Modi will also partake in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) tunnel work. According to Chahal, the work will start on February 19 and the project will be completed by October 2028. “Meanwhile, the Versova-Dahisar connector and Dahisar-Mira Road connector will be completed by 2029,” he added.
