Central Railway has launched an "zero scrap" initiative as part of which the railway authorities has been diligently identifying and disposing of various types of scrap, prioritising the removal of overaged locomotives, surplus diesel locos, un-operational rail lines, and overaged or accidental locos/coaches, reported news agency ANI.
According to ANI, Central Railway has notched a milestone by achieving scrap sales amounting to an impressive Rs 132.47 crore in the current financial year, spanning from April 1, 2023, to August 15, 2023.
