Four local train motormen working with Central Railway (Mumbai) who averted major accidents in separate instances in May 2024 have been felicitated for their exemplary actions in ensuring passenger safety. “Such commendable actions exemplify Central Railway (CR) and its employees’ unwavering dedication to passenger safety and underscore the critical role played by its vigilant staff in ensuring the well-being and safety of commuters. CR is committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services to millions of passengers in the Mumbai metropolitan region,” a CR spokesperson said.
MAY 8: While working Train No. Titwala-20 local, motorman Jagpal Singh noticed that an injured person was lying near the track at km 36/150 between Mumbra and Kalwa stations. He immediately stopped his train and with the help of other passengers, took the person into his train. The person was handed over to the station staff at Kalwa to be taken to hospital for treatment. Singh`s alertness saved a life.
