If you plan to see off a family member taking a long-distance train from CSMT, LTT or Kalyan, don’t take the whole jingbang. For, you will end up coughing a lot of money on platform tickets. Starting Monday, each platform ticket on Central Railway will cost Rs 50. The move is mostly to check crowding at the stations and reduce chain pulling.
“It has been decided to increase the price of platform tickets as a temporary measure at CSMT, Dadar, LTT, Thane, Kalyan and Panvel stations from May 9 to May 23,” Central Railway chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar said.
